Connect Google Analytics to start tracking your catalogs' visitors

You can connect your Google Analytics to Now In Store to stack tracking your visitors and how they interact with your different catalogs.

In order to do so, you first need to :

  1. Create a Google Analytics Account by following this procedure and a new Google Analytics 4 property by following this procedure: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/9304153?hl=en&ref_topic=14088998&sjid=9166545288192929424-NA.
  2. Once your new property is created, retrieve the measurement ID by following this procedure: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/12270356?hl=enConnect and add it in the settings at the following location:
  3. Everything is now set up to track your visitors. To check that everything is properly configured open one of your catalogs and open Google Analytics > Reports > Engagement > Overview.
You should now see in realtime visitors viewing your catalog. Each catalog send specific events when a visitors view a specific page, click on a link or view a catalog. Those events won't appear in realtime. There is a 24 hours delay. You can view those events at the bottom of the same dashboard:

  1. View Catalog: Triggered when a catalog is viewed.
    1. Category: Catalog
    2. Label: Catalog Id
  1. View Page: Triggered when a page is viewed
    1. Category: Catalog
    2. Label: Catalog Id
    3. Value: Pages number
  1. Click on link:  Triggered when a link inside the catalog is clicked
    1. Category: Catalog
    2. Label: Catalog Id
    3. Value: URL of the link
